LMNH found a great space in a great location, cleaned it up and called it ‘look mum no hands!’ They show films and cycle sport on a big projector screen. They have a workshop and two great mechanics who fix bikes and have people who are really into making good food and coffee. They also sell BEER!

I still race unsuccessfully but with some enthusiasm, although it has to be said I am a brilliant Line Judge! Time trialling, track racing and touring are my main loves but over the last few years I have had the cyclo-cross bug. Certainly worked for me going over the Himalayas, if not week in, week out in the Eastern Cross League. Qualified coach and Cytech mechanic. Riding a Raleigh CX machine this season with SRAM CX1 – I know first time ever it hasn’t been Italian. May God have mercy on my soul.

I’ve always ridden bikes from the first taste of freedom on my solid tired bike at 4 years old, I’ve had many steads. I started riding a bike ‘properly’ at the age of 11. I just wanted to get out of my town and explore, this led on to my first bike race a couple of years later After some success on the road racing I was chosen to ride for The Great Britain team and selected to ride the World Championships (only managed first reserve..) I raced in Belgium and France for a season and ended up on the scrap heap in my early twenties… It was an amazing life affirming experience. After some years off the bike I am now firmly back in the saddle all the pleasure I remember from the early years are back. Now a qualified coach and lover of all things bike, Hub Velo feels like the natural place to be. Always up for a chat on routes, bikes, training and anything in between.

It’s grass roots racing like Beastway that gets kids involved at an early age which leads them towards a positive lifestyle’.
Terry along with his brother Kurt, the current Beastway veterans’ champion, will be racing this year’s series and hopes both his sons and a few motocross riders will be joining the the Tradervan team.
